Oh he believes it alright, which is why he disappears when he gets embarrassed by people who aren't failed footballers who think that Payet is a poor man's Ayew and Mo Diame is one of the best midfielders in the country.

Song was absolutely awful last night. Good performance, Noble MOM and we looked very solid at the back.

I still can't decide whether he's posting that shit with a genuine belief in what he's writing, or whether he's just playing up to 'character'.

Either way, Rodfarts 9:56 was an absolute gem as well.

Noble so clearly the weakest link in the team.....

It's actually quite embarrassing for the fella.

He is now the Jonathan spectre of the team.

Why the fuck are we playing like we are playing against 11 men.

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
The advice Noble received from Zamora "just pass it to the players that are better than you".........its pretty easy for Noble really as everyone he passes it to is indeed BETTER THAN HIM.

just shows you what sort of player Zomara was to give that ridiculous advice.

One shit player to another.

Rodfarts 10:04 Tue Feb 2
Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
Not surprisingly it's a pretty even 1st half.........With Noble playing like he is we have 10 men too.

That was a fucking embarrassing 1st half

Rodfarts 10:19 Tue Feb 2
Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
I remember us plating like this many times before but our captain PARKER fucking geed our team right up and stood out.

Where the fuck is our captain?

He's 1 of the worst captains we have ever EVER had.

In fact we will all look back in 10 years time and say......

Ahhh yeah Noble ...........He was a bit shit tho really wasn't he.

Rodfarts 10:25 Tue Feb 2

We had every player behind the ball for that villa free kick....

Fucking embarrassing

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread
Funny how Noble has been involved in these set piece plays as shooter when his shoot rate is abysmal.

Pulling rank and has a bit of Nolan about him.

Minus the goals of course

Bilic should be changing this shit up...

But he is fucking clueless

Nothing like having a player like Noble to fuck things up.

He's a proper dozy cunt ain't he.

If only that goal from the corner routine would have gone in it would have been the icing on the cake. Would have caused a mass suicide among the Noble hating bods on here.

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
As for Villa, they were even poorer than they were last time they came here. Ayew gets how many bags a week? An absolute disgrace to do what he did, not sure how he thought he'd get away with it. Even I saw from the other end with my dodgy minces.

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
Norf. I totally agree that he is a good player and it will be a shame if he doesn't get a call up to a squad basis some of the players that have got caps in the past. Carlton Palmer anyone?

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
Thought Mark Noble was the best player on the pitch last night. Work rate combined with good judgement and high quality passing and movement.

I cannot believe the number of detractors he has on here. He is a fine footballer who is really coming into his own as captain and under Bilic. The system suits him well.

Buster 9:38 Wed Feb 3
Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
Thought Noble was superb last night. Payet had another off game, it's going to happen and it stands out more when he's quiet as everyone is looking for him to do something magic whenever he gets the ball.

The game was made for Lanzini last night, the amount of space we had down the left hand side was ridiculous, especially in the first half. Didn't seem to take advantage of it as much as we could have though.

Anyway, another three points in the bag, unbeaten at home since August and still an immense buzz about the club as a whole.

Big game Saturday now, a chance to help put some proper daylight between us and those just below us.

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
I thought we were very patient and you could see the goal eventually coming.

I think the difference is last year we would have been pumping more direct balls up field and it would have been easier to soak up the pressure.

I agree that I think Payet provides better balance when more central but even when wide and he is having off periods during the game he can still provide a bit of magic.

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
LOL

Me and Phaice were discussing how playing Noble, Song and Kouyate together wasn't the best combo. Lanzini instead of one of those would be better for the team.

Barry is slower than noble he had an excellent career at the top level. Personally not quite sure the skipper will quite hit those he's gut but he's still a very good player.
Born leader as well anyone who was actually at the game would of seen that last night

stewie griffin 9:21 Wed Feb 3
Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
I think we miss Lanzini quite badly, P son, in terms of our attacking balance. With song, kouyate and noble in midfield PAYET ends up out wide and with no real number 10 we can look at bit rigid..effectively 4-1-2-3 rather than 4-2-3-1, where a lot of our early success had the players in the front 4 positions interchanging. Flip side to that is we look more solid. Second half the skipper drove us on but we'll need to be better against better opposition.

Regardless, it's absolutely immense that we're sitting where we are, especially having missed key players for periods.

Another win for the Boleyn Ground

Britannia Pub 9:21 Wed Feb 3
Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
Noble is a very, very good premiership player. Roy Hodgson should take a closer look at him in a squad call up situation.

For all of his abilities I think he is missing a major one that will stop him getting many, if any, international call ups. The one thing he is missing is pace and, unfortunately, no amount of coaching will improve that.

It's a shame because, for me, he offers so much more to a team than a Delph.

jonthehammer 9:12 Wed Feb 3
Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
I wouldnt worry about Payet to be honest, he wasnt that bad. Still showed moments of quality.

Plus it is good that we dont just rely on him to break teams down who have 9/10 men behind the ball.

Noble was great last night and that pass for Antonio was pure quality. The header was just as good, he somehow put curl on it right into the corner of the net.

To be fair Villa were dogged after Ayew went and some fans need to understand just because they were down to 10 we dont automatically win 5-0. It is sometimes harder against 10 as they dont cross the halfway line so there is no space.

I thought second half we worked harder and created the space and were more fluent in our passing and movement.

Very happy with the points, no game is a gimme in this league. Bring on Soton.

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
Nothing is happening to Payet, he's just had a couple of games where he hasn't reached his own high standards, he can't be a world beater every game.

Re: West Ham v Aston Villa - Official Match Thread FT 2-0
Difficult to see why we were so woeful for the first 45 minutes. A continuation of how we played at Liverpool.

Not sure what's happening to Payet, whether he's out of form, or believing in his own hype?

I'd like to see Lanzini in the side again, sooner rather than later. What bothers me about the last two matches is the lack of fluency moving the ball around.

Noble wasn't so hot in the first half, second half he shifted up a few gears to say the least, some great vision at times and unlucky not to have goal, that volley from the corner was struck as sweet as any ive seen, thought it was in and think so did he, great save from the Villa keeper.
